Been loading 44 Remington mag for a few years but only for wheel guns.
Want to load up some 240gr jacketed bullets for my desert eagle and it likes magnum loads.
I’d love to go with either IMR 4427 or 4227 because I’ve got a lot of each. I’ve also used unique and trail boss but that’s about it for 44 mag. Needless to say, I will not be loading anything but jacketed bullets for this pistol.

Any help with load data/powder and primer choices would be very much appreciated, especially from anyone shooting a desert eagle.

I have 4- 44 mag lever guns and a threaded 77/44, if I'm loading supersonic I keep it simple H110/mag primers hornady 240/300xtps, can't go wrong, very small window for min/max.... Other than that if I load light plinkers I use titegroup and Lasercast 240 SWC(never have had a leading issue and very accurate) and for subs I use trailboss... Both with standard LRG primer...

My book shows IMR 4227 START 22.0 grains and MAX. 24.0 grains for the 240 grain NOS.JHP
Not much room for play there.
    Case Win.
    Twist 1:20
    Barrel 8:275
    Trim 1.280
    Primer Remington 2 1/2 Large

It's hard to beat 296/H110 for the 44 Mag. My pet load was a Sierra 240gr JHP and a charge of 23 grains with a CCI 350 primer in a Winchester case. I shot thousands of these in handgun silhouette. Very accurate in every gun I have ever seen using this load.

Thats gonna be a very tight fit in a 44

That's what I get for posting on a phone. If ya look it also corrected the name of the lube I use. I never use load data of the net with out checking 1st. Make that 430 some guys guns shoot .429 Mine did better bigger at .430 I have seen guys post powder charges that are down right scary. Never ever just take info from me or anyone else with out checking 1st.

Loaded 60 rounds of 240gr HP’s in some brand new Starline brass with this dope and ya know what? Yer my new go to guy HS. Shot 2 mags thru my latest desert Eagle and a couple cylinders thru the 29-3 and I like them. Thanks!
