Honey Island in Pearl River for the nearest range to shoot 25 yard pistol and 100 yard rifle. They are grumpy old bastards, and get a lot of fudd traffic so no holster work.
FITS Indoor Range for the nearest 25 yard indoor pistol only range. No holster work is allowed.
FRC Range in Baton Rouge for the nearest pistol/rifle range out to 25 yards that allows holster work, if approved by the RSO, and can shoot rifle so long as you don't use steel core ammunition.
St. Tammany doesn't have a premier shooting facility yet.

He's talking about Bedico Creek shooting range.
It's not much of a range, but it's cheap and you can shoot firearms there. It's not a place you want to go if you are concerned with nicer facilities and the ability to do holster work.

Ahhhh do you guys know anything about the legalities of doing this kind of shooting on public land?
I used to shoot at shurburne, I liked that because I was mostly left alone to do my shooting. Except this one time, a pair of low life’s showed up while the range was cold and starting shooting. No one had earpro and I was fixing targets down range. Needless to say a bunch of upset folks with guns. They didn’t stay very long

The simple answer is.... don't.
If you want to shoot privately, invest in some land.
