    I seem to keep getting lost everytime I go to find a competition that would be appropriate for my 10 year old daughter. I'm in the Lake Charles area. Are there any competitions outside of the 4-h system that she could participate in? Thanks!

    Probably the best thing to start a young shooter on is Steel Challenge.
    They have a 22 pistol and rifle catagory, so that is helpful. Courses of fire are very simple, yet challenging to do quickly. Very little movement. Teaches safe gun handling, marksmanship and range orders.
    I'm sure there is a club between lake Charles and Houston to look into. Maybe fort Polk area?
