    Hi everyone,

    I'm from Baton Rouge, LA and just finished up my 6 yr military career with the Air Force and feels so good to be home. My friend showed me this website and glad I could be part of a community that all has the same interest. I'll be moving down to New Orleans soon but like I said, feels good to be home!!!

    If that's the case, you have to eat at LA23 in front of the base. Get yourself a 2 meat combo (brisket and chicken), and as your sides, double the beans. You will thank me later.

    Kenner is a pretty far drive from Belle Chasse, you may want to live in Gretna/belle chasse. I would say Algiers since it's close, but higher taxes and crime really isn't a selling point.

    Welcome home and thank you for your service! I'm in North Kenner. Nice and safe around here. You will have about a 30-45 minute commute to the Naval Base (depending on what time you'd have to make the drive), but it's totally worth to live a few minutes outside of the war zone they call New Orleans.
