    Hello experts!

My neighbor has asked if I can find some info on her revolver I know it's old I'm just trying to determine how old. I believe it's from between 1915 and 1927 based on a couple different sources. Serial is 28xxxx. Any info on this classic you can share would be great!

Sorry for the sideways pictures. I can't get them to straighten up...

.38 M&P Model of 1905, 4th Change. Probably shipped from the factory in the late 1910’s or early 1920’s. Tough to tell from the pictures, but this gun may have been re-blued. The giveaway would be the trigger and hammer, which should be case hardened.

S&W made over a million of these guns. Pretty common, but a solid gun that should still shoot very reliably.

... and based on the close up photos, I can almost guarantee that this gun was refinished. Kills the collector value, but still a solid gun from some of S&W’s best years.
