I have been watching the various gun bills that have been pre-filed this session. As you can imagine after the Florida shooting, it’s going to be a real show at the capital with every anti-gun rabble rouser in the state in attendance.

    There are the following bills:

    • HB277 Marcelle – Aged 21 to purchase “Assault Weapons”

    • HB400 Bagneris - 10 Day Waiting Period to purchase firearms

    • HB448 G.Carter - Gun Seizure Orders

    • HB473 P.Smith - Bans ‘Rapid Fire’ Devices (bump stocks) but is potentially worded to outlaw (not regulate, but OUTLAW) legal NFA registered items

    • HB603 Moreno - ‘Assault Weapon Registration/Ban’

    • SB155 T.Carter - Aged 21 to purchase ALL firearms.

    • SB383 T.Carter - Ammo Registry making retailers keep logs of who purchased what ammo and how much and send it to a state central computer.

    • SB185 Bishop - Eliminates State Preemption (yep... you read that right.) Every Parish and political subdivision could have its own rules for gun ownership.

Typically, gun bills are set for committee hearing together on the same day. I will have a couple days advance notice of the setting. I can post it here if you are interested. Ideally, we could get a couple of dozen of you guys to come to the capital when the bills are in committee. You don’t have to speak, but a show of numbers and all of the red cards opposing a bill is very influential. The NRA will speak, I or someone else from the Louisiana Shooting Association will speak and usually there are a couple others. We try to get our point across without being repetitive or say anything insulting to the legislators.

Can we count on any of you?

No hard commitment, but I’d be interested in going to the capitol on the hearing date. Keep us in the loop.

Can someone post email addresses and an email that we could send? I'd be okay sending an email out to all BS members trying to get them to send stuff to their reps.

I will make a link with a website that I found them.

Called the people that made the AWB and the ammo registry as I think those are the most pressing. We cannot give up on this though. No compromise

I would be happy to email. At this rate they are trying to turn our state into California all of those laws have the california anti-gun stink on them.

Thank you for your support. We are the peaceful majority but we are irrelevant if we say nothing.

We live in a nation which compares you to a nazi when you disagree with the lefts opinion. We’re silenced, excluded, and stripped of our basic fundamental rights with no basis or data supporting that it will protect more lives. But we’re promised that the ever-growing, malignant, power-hungry government WILL protect us from any thing bad, we just have to give them our rights.

In this “honest” discussion about gun control, the only thing that they’re willing to discuss how much of our rights we’re willing to surrender. Not any of the left is willing to accept that we may know solutions that will fix this problem of mass shootings.

Someone draft an email that can be sent to all of the senators / reps regarding the bills and post it here. I can get a PM or email to all BS members asking them to contact reps.

I’ve been told to put up my tinfoil hats but every day it looks more and more like Rights and common sense is losing the fight. Florida has already thrown up the white flag. Who is next? I still say it’s now if, but when the second crumbles.
