Palo Alto March 17 Regional & March 18 Rifle/Pistol EIC

Just a reminder that this Saturday, March 17 Palo Alto Rifle & Pistol Club will host the regularly scheduled Regional format (80 shots + sighters) NRA Approved Across the Course High Power match and then on Sunday the 18th will be held a Civilian Marksmanship Program Excellence in Competition rifle match. The Sunday match will be the National Match course of fire which means 50 shots with no sighting shots.

After the EIC rifle match on Sunday there will be 30 shot pistol EIC Leg match. Skip Blanchard in the cc line has the details on that.

Registration for the rifle matches both days is from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. Registering the day of the match is fine. The fee for the Saturday match is $12.00 for members of Palo Alto, $15.00 for non-members and $5.00 for juniors. I will have ammo for junior competitors both days. The fee for the Sunday EIC match is $20.00 per competitor.

The monthly NRA Approved High Power match is still on for tomorrow.
Barring lightning, flooding or wind so strong that it blows the targets
out of the carriers, we will hold a match. This is your chance to get
your zeros for the Leg match to be held the next day, Sunday the 18th.
Bring rain gear and make some fond memories.

Registration is from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. If you need support for a
junior shooter please email me or call me this evening.

Congratulations to Warren Freeman who earned the Distinguished Rifleman
badge at the 18 March 2018 Excellence in Competition match conducted at
Palo Alto. Please see the attached report for the results of two days of
competition. The weather-guessers got it wrong. We had two great weather
days to enjoy the sport.

The next NRA Approved High Power Across the Course match will be
conducted on Saturday the 21st of April. Registration will be from 7:00
am to 8:00 am. Registration fee will be $12.00 for members of Palo Alto,
$15.00 for non-members and $5.00 for juniors. Treat yourself to some
friendly competition at the finest range in the region before the heat
sets in.

Twenty three competitors enjoyed a wonderful March day of friendly high power competition on Saturday the 17th and twenty five competitors participated in the EIC LEG match on the Sunday the 18. Competitors came from as far away as Florida and Jackson, Mississippi. I thank everyone who competed. The predicted bad weather in no way materialized. At most there was a very brief period of incidental light spritz that was gone and dried as quickly as it came on. All in all, it was two great days to compete. Congratulations to our newest Distinguished Rifleman Warren Freeman. Thank you to the club for cutting the grass and squaring away the range and to Lee Shall for calling the line both days.
The next NRA approved high power XTC match will be on Saturday the 21st of April. Registration will be from 0700 to 0800 and is $12.00 for club members, $15.00 for non-club members and $5.00 for juniors.
