I've seen several posts mentioning CMP M1911A1s. Remember, these pieces have been rebuilt many, many times and are surplused out because they aren't worth rebuilding again.

And an M-60 Would be awesome

YOu want a Gew98 or a K98? There is a bit of a difference... I have both and love them... My K98 is a russian capture and shoots way better than my GEW 98. Funny thing is that my GEW 98 is an imperial german with all but one serial number removed and a Amberg lion on the bottom shank. No way to tell exactly when it was made but it has been refinished at some point...

I can now strike the Enfield Jungle Carbine off the list.

Also who here said "No Thank You" to the CMP with the prices of the 1911's... That is 300-400 overpriced...

I think my 1911 urge will be filled with a Norinco 1911, they are sub $500 and fantastic pieces... should go good with my Norinco M14S, and Chinese C96.

I picked up an Auto Ordinance 1911. It' sub $500, parkerized, and runs well.

Great pistols, I like the Norinco as it's well known that the steel used in them are very very good. Thinking of a 460 Rowland conversion in the near future.

The only Norinco I have is a 1917 trench gun replica. Its never been fired. I picked up a new leather sling and a 1917 Remington bayonet. Someday I'll get it out and see if it shoots.

Is it truly one of the Norinco ones? There have been other clones out there that claim to be but are horrible knockoffs... Slam-firing them are a whole lot of fun.

Its a good looking gun. Has the US & flaming bomb on the receiver, marked "NORINCO 97" on the barrel and "MADE IN CHINA" under the receiver. I don't think they have been imported with a bayonet lug and heat shield for awhile.

All new and C&R handguns usually get used within 2 weeks. Sometimes I neglect the long guns.:)

Nice had experience with the one that is not a norinco... I'm the opposite I shoot my long guns more than handguns. I truly enjoy the k31 but just plinking feels like a waste of ammo for it..
