    We all have our mil-surp/old rifle want list, those ones that we would just love... So why not air it out.

    I know I want the following;

    M1 Garand (fixing that very soon);
    M1 Carbine (have a good lead on a NPM); Arriving soon at my FFL
    P08 Luger;
    Swiss Model 1900 Luger;
    Broomhandle Mauser w/stock; (got a Chinese one no stock....)
    SVT-40
    M28 Finnish Mosin;
    1898 Krag(unmolested);
    1903 Springfield (Prefer a MK1)(unmolested);
    Enfield MK V Jungle Carbine ; Waiting at my FFL
    Just about any inexpensive Turk mauser;
    A Gew98 Imperial German w/ intact marking (current one was re-blued and markings scrubbed);
    FN49;
    Hakim;
    An Arisaka in 7.7 Jap(wanna do the 7.62x39 chamber lol);
    Any Italian Caracano;
    Swiss 1911 Carbine;
    WW2 or WW1 1911;
    Trench Shotgun;
    MAS 36;
    Not C&R but a affordable bullpup like a M17S

    The list could keep going but these are the ones that if afforded the opportunity I want... I am sure that there are many others... But what C&R type firearms are you on the hunt for?

    I like some of your list.
    Overall, I think it is a good list.

    Def the M1 Garand
    1903 springfield
    I would like an enfield MV, but with the 308 conversion.
    Nice Turk mauser
    Nice wwII 1911
    Had a M1 carbine, wasn't impressed and eventually got rid of it.
    9mm bolt action from south america, can't remember the country or make at the moment.

    1911 in 38spl 38midrange It is a 38spl wad cutter gun that shoots 5 rnds. And or a S and W 52 also same cartridge
    Maybe not a C&R but is old to me.
    I have all the mil surplus I need if I get the barrel swapped on the K98 I have.

    Got the AR-15, M-14, M-1 Garand, M1903-A3, and even a trapdoor Springfield. Have a hankering for an M1917, but for some reason have never lusted after an M1 Carbine. Got the Sig P226, Beretta M9, and 1911, might be tempted to acquire one of the Army Sig clones.

    A buddy acquired a broomhandle mauser last year, but it had been "upgraded" and wasn't original. I'd still like to acquire an original finish one, and also a P08 Luger.

    There was the destroyer carbine based on a 1893 Mauser in 9mm largo easily sleeved for 9mm luger.
    Also your 308 conversion was only done by India with the isapore 2a1 any "jungle carbines" in 308 are complete fakes. Worth less than a untouched one. Had a beat up MK V and miss it but boy did it kick.

    Yes, I realize the Gibbz conversions were just that, conversions. But they shoot conventional ammo and are a fairly cheap truck gun. Gibbz even made one in a 45-70 for awhile. That would make a good camp gun too.
    I had an old MK V too, and yes, it did pack a wallop.
    When it comes to the world of Enfields there are all sorts of variations, fakes and stuff. but, in general they are all cheap and fun to mess with.

    Just when I think the end of the list is in sight, more show up on it. Only 3 milsurps on it right now though and only one near the top.

    Smith Corona 1903a3
    Enfield no4mk2
    FN49

    Would be interested in a nice Arisaka with mum as well. It’s all moot though as I just bought the wife new living room furniture so the well is dry.

    I saw one of those for sale a while back... Only issue is that like any good military vehicle I bet it breaks often... So parts...

    Hmmm. The two things that come to mind are a CMP M1 Garand and a CMP 1911 -- not because I collect either of these, but rather because it seems like every self-respecting gun collector should have a martially marked M1 Garand and 1911.

    Beyond that ... I'd like an original 1851 Colt Navy, a Smith & Wesson Model 2, and a 1903 Springfield.

    Scratch the M1 Carbine. Have a 1943 NPM waiting at my FFL for when I return. As well as a m91/59 mosin.
