Anyone ever shot a GSSF indoor match? There is one this weekend and I was curious how it is compared to the outdoor matches. There used to be an outdoor match in Thibodeaux but I don't think they do it anymore.
I shoot the indoor match when ever they come up. Except Bayou Dragon, I personally do not like B.D. and will not go back.
The indoor matches are much different than the out door.
With the indoor you only have 3 classes - Pocket, Stock and Unlimited.
You only shoot one (same) course of fire for stock and unlimited. Pocket has it's own course of fire.
You will shoot 5 strings of 10 rds from 5 to 25 yrds. 50 Rounds is all you will need for each division. (There are multi able course of fire but the hosting range has say which course of fire that will be used for the match series)
You shoot once a month for 3 months, Best 2 of the 3 match are averaged together to get you final score.
Plaques are given out for (I believe) 1st - 3rd in each of the divisions.
Prizes and gun is given out by random drawing.
Keep an eye out on GSSF Online.. The fairly new indoor range in Baton Rouge Called FRC ( https://www.facebook.com/frcrange/ ) just submitted there paper work to have there next match. They are hoping to have there first match sometime in July.
Shooter Club in Materie, used to have the GSSF match, but they are going on the 2nd year for not having it. I have a call into the owner of Shooters Clubs to see if he is going to bring back the GSSF match to his range. Haven't heard anything back at this time.
Thanks for the info. I found Bayou Dragon on the map and it is pretty far from me. I have shot at FRC and I really like that range and it is 20 minutes from the house!
