Have a gen 2 glock 23 I want to convert to 9mm. Bought a 9mm conversion barrel today specific to the 23 and wanted to know what else I need.
    Op rod/spring?
    Do Glock 19 mags work?
Anybody else here done the conversion and are there bugs or issues I should watch for?
    All help appreciated.

You'll need 9mm (G19) mags and that should be all. Springs and everything should work fine.

You could also get the G32 Conversion barrel (.357 Sig) and use the .40 mags (they will hold the .357Sig rounds) for it as well and shoot 3 calibers out of the same pistol.

The only thing you may want to watch for is expended shells ejecting straight back into your face... but sometimes it happens with the conversion and sometimes it doesn't.

Since you already have the conversion barrel, you will need G19 magazines and a G19 trigger housing.

The ejector on the .40 S&W trigger housing is straight, while the 9mm trigger housing has an angled ejector. The extractors are similar.

What LSC said. But if you have a spare 9mm ejector for your pistol you can use it in your current trigger housing.

The ejector is part of the trigger housing.

In my experience, the newer conversion barrels offset the cartridge slightly to the left, so that the existing ejector works without needing to change any of that. My G27 shot 9mm with no issues with a Lone Wolf conversion barrel, just used G26 magazines.

The housing is the same on small frame Glocks, the ejector is different. Not a problem changing the ejectors between 9mm and .40 housings in the same generation.

I've never seen ejectors for sale as a standalone part.

My experience was with a lone wolf 40-9 conversion barrel and 9mm mags. About 2500 rounds down range with no issues with that setup. It was with a gen3 23 though.

When I realized the amount of rounds I was shooting with the conversion I sold all my 40 cal stuff and moved back to 9mm.

Gosh dang you guys are awesome. Thank you all.
The 9mm mags fit exactly the same.
Took it out back and slow fired 30+ rounds and did notice the brass going over my head and behind me but none directly at me. Smooth as silk with no failures.
Also thanks to the tactical gunshop in Ponchy. Small place packed with goodies. I highly recommend them. Just look for the CVS pharmacy on the main drag and hit the street behind it.

Try the barrel and 9mm mags. If it feeds and extracts reliable you are gtg. If not try changing the ejector.

brownell has gl19 trigger housing w/ejector. will this fit in gen2 model 23's to fix the problem? newer conversion bbls are said to have an offset chamber to allow the straight ejector to contact a 9mm case. May be..my gen 3 picks 'em alright, as-is, tho
