I have my first 15-22 on the way and thought I’d pre-purchase a few minor upgrades while I wait, one of which is the highly-regarded replacement extractor from Volquartsen. $10 seemed reasonable. Little did I know, until the package arrived today, that it’s a thin sliver of steel barely larger than a nail clipping. Based on size/price ratio I would expect the thing to be made out of 24k gold. I gotta get into the firearm accessory biz...

Although I have no experience with the 15-22 extractor from Volquartsen, I can tell you their extractor for the S&W Model 41 helped clear up function issues with my Model 41.

I put one in my 15-22, didn't really seem to make a difference.

BTW, there is one serious design defect with the 15-22. The magazines are always empty!:(

My 15-22 runs like a raped ape with no action upgrades. The only thing I have done to mine is change out the barrel nut so I can put whatever handguard I like on it and to get the barrel threaded. The only issue it has is with remington golden bullets it hates those with a passion. I can put pretty much anything else in it with no issues even Winchester subsonics and it runs like a champ.

$10 for anything machined in the US is completely reasonable. I mean I’ve almost paid that for a cup of coffee. Research and development, machine time, overhead, etc and then a little profit because that’s how companies stay in business. It adds up quick.

I installed one of one of my .22's that was not ejecting properly. The Volquartsen helped greatly, runs smooth.
I put another one in a newer Ruger 10-22. Couldn't tell a difference.
