I already tried the cold blue. The rest of the metal looks good and fairly uniform. The black oxide on the Childers doesn’t change much. The AK with the wood furniture is a Recreator and it matches much better with cold blue. I’m thinking about sanding off the Childers and tryin again.
After a little snafu, I am back underway building my suppressor ready ak. I pressed the front sight on without polishing the barrel enough and the front sight was stuck. I had someone machine the tool pictured to press it off. I figured I would just post it here instead of starting a new thread.

Subscribed. Are you going to make the gas system adjustable of some sort on the suppressor ready?
I'm going to pick up a Century Arms Golani Sporter that I want to have chopped threaded and pinned and welded with an ASR flash hider. This thread made me want to do one! Keep in mind I know nothing about AK building or very little anyway.
