Ok so I put a 20inch grendel 2 ,rifle gas with side charge With rifle stock and I was having a Ejection problem, then put carbine stock and it ran fine, but had same set up on one more rear charge, it was not ejecting and leaving the round in almost double feeding, I'm thinking it's the bolt , but is there a buffer weight made for 6.5? Thanks for any info

Same barrel on all setups tested?

If so it sounds like the gas port is too small. Did you try different ammo?

Carbine buffer is lighter than a rifle buffer, but usually you can swap without causing issues.

Will any setup lock the bolt open on the last round fired? If not you are undergassed or really oversprung.

We need more details and pics of the malfunction if possible.

Who made the barrel? Some manufacturers are known to have over or undersized gas ports.

Who made the bolt? Is it Grendel bolt or 7.62x39?

Upon firing the last round, will the mag drop free?

Many Grendels are overgassed and you get bolt bounce, mine was doing the same thing until I added a Tubb carrier weight. It's behaved ever since & easier than installing an adjustable gas block.
