I was going to use a 100 or 75grain full wadcutter in 9mm. So I built a few at 75. But after finding a 90 grain obsolete Lyman 356404 that would do the same thing. And was only 30 bucks vs a 100 for a custom 75 or 100 wadcutter
I know I have had great results with the full wads in 45acp. Even got them to work in 1911 with a magazine change.
So have to ask who else is shooting a 9mm or 45 wheel gun?

I have an old Colt 1917 warhorse that is extremely accurate. I usually take it when I have to re-qualify for my concealed permit. Ah, the satisfaction outshooting almost everyone on the range with a 100 year old revolver!

Then I have this, a bit of both worlds. .455 old boy!

Smith and Wesson 625 JM. Haven't shot lead relodas but, it's plenty accurate with 230 FMJs.
Man, that gun needs some 185 or 200-grain SWC's with a light load. Back in 2011, Hodgdon put out an annual reloading book for the year. It has a 45 acp write up. TrailBoss was used as low as 3.5 grains with a 185 lead was 641FPS Says same load for 200 SWC It was a cream puff in the revolver.

5* 625 loaded with Super Target and 230 or 200 gr Bayou Bullets coated round nose bullets.
Also have a 6.5* 610 10mm revolver. Seemed you were asking about pistol caliber revolvers, do I thought the 610 would git here. Never shot a 10mm out of it but I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many 40S&W have been fired through it.

I bought a 625-8 2 months ago and put well over 1000 rounds through it, maybe even 1500. It's all been factory 230 grain ball, but I can hold a decent group with it.

What do you want to know?

I keep the loads down so as to not destroy the old girl but, I would give her some military 230 Ball if I had nothing else.

I had a Brazilian contract Smith & Wesson Model of 1917 that was chambered for .45 ACP. Like just about every pre-WW2 Smith, it was unfailingly reliable and accurate. The gun came to me with a lot of .45 auto rim brass, and I found that a lot easier to work with than the moon clips.

I'd like to try a 9mm revolver ... as always, I'll wait for a deal to pop up that I can't pass up.
