High Power competitors,
Attached please find the match report for the 16 June 2018 subject match.
Note two important changes:
1. The Palo Alto Rifle & Pistol Club board of directors decided to move the .22 small bore match which has been held on the 3rd Saturday to the 4th Saturday of the month.
2. Starting with the 21 July match the registration period for the High Power XTC match at Palo Alto will be changed to 7:00am to 7:30am. This will allow us to start a half an hour earlier. Because of both leadership and generosity of spirit in putting up targets we have been very good at calling the first relay to the line by 8:45. We can start earlier than that and in the summer we should. This change will allow us to call the first relay to the line by 8:15am.
Start thinking now about your rifle that does not get out of the safe often enough because the Saturday 18 August match will be the annual "Fun Match" that will be shot at 200 yards. It will be a 50 shot match due to the heat but if everyone clammors for 80 shots we will do that. So bring enough ammo. And water. Scores will not be kept by the line and will not be turned in to the NRA. This is your chance to run that M1 Carbine, 98K, 03 Springfield, Lee Enfield, SVT40 or whatever you want to bring that can handle 200 yards safely in the National Match course of
fire. Yes, even AKs, SKSs and shorty ARs are welcome as are scoped rifles. So think about it. Pop-up shade covers are welcome and encouraged as long as they don't interfere with firing. The registration fee for this match will be all of $5.00.
If you require support for a junior competitor please let me know. Bring a new shooter with you and let's grow the sport.

The rain held off until after the match. The weather was perfect for competition. My thanks to everyone who made it out there and to Lee Shall for calling the line.
The .22 small bore rifle match usually conducted on the 3rd Saturday has been moved to the 4th Saturday of the month. Starting in July, there will be no .22 small bore match taking place while the High Power XTC match is taking place.
The next NRA approved high power XTC match at Palo Alto will be on Saturday the 21st of July. Note the registration period is changed. Registration will be from 0700 to 0730 and is $12.00 for club members, $15.00 for non-club members and $5.00 for juniors. Nota bene: STARTING WITH THE JULY MATCH THE REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR THE HIGH POWER XTC MATCH AT PALO ALTO WILL BE FROM 7am to 7:30am.
