Anyone else planning on going to the 15 Sep 18, CMP matches at Talladega Shooting Park?

I recently got a M1 Garand and Carbine and have never shot in a match in my life... So I went ahead and registered for it, my plan is to go up on the 14th and check out the CMP South Store, and stay in a Hotel.

I am super excited to be doing this, and plan on shooting the Vintage Rifle match as well with my K31, the only rifle I do not have is a 1903 Springfield so as much as I would love to shoot it in the Springfield match I guess I have to wait till the stars align and I get one.

    So who is going also?

I'm not planning to go to Talladega in September, but I can tell you that you will have an absolute blast. These are top-notch people, and while you'll quickly be humbled by the phenomenal talent that's there, you'll also make a lot of friends and learn a ton about good shooting.

Go with enthusiasm and an open mind, and you'll make memories that will last a lifetime!

I can't wait. Funny part is I just got the M1 Carbine and Garand. The Carbine is waiting at my FFL and the Garand is coming from another member of this forum. So I have never shot it. When I get CONUS soon I am going to pick them up and see how they shoot. I registered online as a "I really want to do this" thing. Wonder how I stack up to the others going...

Where is this information published? Going to be mobile so can't make any of those dates but would love to get to the others.
