As the title asks, has anyone used KCI Glock mags? They're pretty cheap but they seem to be rated pretty high. They appear they would make good range/practice/training mags. If you lose them or they break or you loan it out, just get another one, they're cheap. I wouldn't use it for carry but for the range, are they worth it?

I bought a bunch of them when they were $4 or less each. I had an issue with one not dropping free. All the others were gtg. They feel cheap and plasticky if that sort of thing bothers you.

There are Korean look alikes and there are the kci branded ones.

I’ve since moved to pmags for *cheap* training/range mags. They are gtg with zero issues.

Ets and hexmag both make a Glock mag these days.

I never trust anything but OEMs. I've tried all the other brands and they're iffy. Magpul's are my favorite of the group, but OEM's aren't that much more.

Like Leadfoot I only use the OEM Glock magazines because of their reliability and I realize I did not correctly answer your question.

I would say go Magpul before KCI. I had some and two were bad. The Magpuls I had worked fine. For carrying nothing but OEM. Range I would do Magpul.

Bought some years ago. Junk. Only use them for dry fire/snap caps and type of malfunction clearing and mag change practice. Would not trust them for primary use.

I think most of the offbrand mags are ok for range time if the price is right but I won’t rely on them for defensive purposes. I’ve heard more bad than good about the KCI mags. The one aftermarket mag for Glocks that has been 100 percent reliable for me are the SGM extended mags I use in my carbines, but they have a steel inner frame and appear to be built like the Glock mags. I trust them. And at less than 20 bucks I seem to always need a few more.

Magpuls have been reliable for me. I've heard good things about ETS. I ran kci a couple of times and they were about as willing to jam as a Phish concert.

I have about 6 magpull G17 mags that I use for range/classes so I don't keep dropping OEM mags on the concrete. I have not had any issues with the Pmags. However, they are lighter than OEM's, and do not drop free quite as "quickly."

lol, sounds like you need to practice proper foot placement when running drills. Might save a few floorplates at the very least.

I have 6 33 rounders for my AR9. They can over insert a little when the bolt is back, but feeds 100%. They work in sub2k but I'm not sure how they work in actual glocks.

Mine are the newer ones with metal reinforcement and looks identical with factory mags. Older ones were complete crap.
