To those who CCW, whether you be religious daily carriers or just when you think you might need to be armed, if you carry an auto, do you carry with a round chambered? Please add your rationale.

    I’ll start:

All the time and all the time. I carry every day except where I am legally denied the ability. My pistol is ready to fire with or without flipping a safety, depending on what I’m carrying.
My rationale is the obvious. The gun needs to be ready to come out and go to work one handed if necessary.

I looked to see if this has been covered and as much as I feel like it’s been covered I couldn’t find a thread

I carry ready to roll. If I’m carrying my larger gun with thumb safety, my holster disengages the safety when drawn. Minimal interaction required.

Unless I am in the shower or bed I carry a loaded pistol ready to fire with a round in the chamber at all times.
I never practiced the former Israeli method of racking the slide to load a round after drawing my pistol and never will.
    Glocks without a external safety.

One in the chamber and ready to rock. Any other way is cheating yourself.

No one will post a good argument here to carrying without a round in the chamber because such an argument does not exist. A gun without a round in the chamber is useless until a round can be put in the chamber. Time is precious and there will never be enough in instances where a weapon will be needed. Additionally, you are shorting yourself a round if not carrying in the chamber.

Unloaded guns are just expensive hammers, and any good hammer doesn’t use bullets. Therefore, unloaded guns are just bad, expensive hammers.

Great answers one and all. I only brought it up because I happened to see a couple vids that were negative on chambered carry. I really gotta stop watching YouTube

Condition One 100%. I mostly carry guns with no external safety but have on occasion carried 1911’s. These I carry with thumb Safety engaged.

CZ P07 either cocked and locked or decocked, depends on if I have safety or decocked installed at the moment

CZ P 10c and walther pps m2 chambered

I have no issue switching between different type of triggers with or without safety.
