Probably going to have some nice recoil in that 4" barrel with those 305's at 1325fps.
I have the Super Redhawk 44 Magnum 7.5" barrel.
Maybe try the Underwood +P+ 340gr at 1425fps and 1533 ft lbs.
Redhawk chambers are cut to shoot any weight .429 bullet. Taurus Trackers and such with their short cylinders are cut for 240gr loads.
Here it is with my Ruger Blackhawk 41 Magnum.

Why 305 gr.? The chambers are probably cut for the standard 240 gr. loads

How do you cut a chamber for a specific weight bullet?

OP, You can try slugging the barrel to get the exact diameter and buy your bullets sized accordingly. That can help.

The Ruger should be good to go with any weight as stated above.

    Congrats on the beautiful boomstick.

I have a Super Blackhawk in .44 magnum. I have to admit that the 10.5" barrel makes the recoil a lot more manageable. But I also can't go hiking with it, like you could with this.

Get some Hogue grips on the 44. They are making them for the round butt.
Here is my Redhawk 41 Magnum 4.2" with the Hogue Bantam grip on a square butt.

A modern 44 mag revolver has been on my bucket list for a long time. Y’all gonna finally push me over the edge if y’all keep posting threads like this. I’m probably going to go the 629 route with a 6 or 8 3/8 barrel, but I’ve been looking at these as well. Give us a range report once you light it up.

Absolutely get some rubber combat grips as stated above.
Love my 44 mags. Life would be so mundane without them.

Anybody here try the buffalo bullets loads? Wouldn’t recommend them in a S&W, but they’ll rock a Ruger
