Shouldn’t it have been the other way around? 17 slide and a 19 frame? Just saying since that’s kinda what lots a conceal carry shooters are looking for. Meh...
If you’re referring to the 19x, most people who have told me the same little line you stated above changed their mind after they handled and shot a 19x.
Mine conceals just like my 17 does when I use the magazines without the extensions.

Meh, it’s a software problem not a hardware problem.
You must be a rather experienced firearms instructor to diagnose all of my deficiencies via a post on an Internet forum.
