I’m trying to cut down a threaded barrel and keep the 11 deg crown on it. I’m also looking to get someone to machine a comp like this. It uses only a few threads and a roll pin to lock on to the barrel. Can any one cut the barrel a little, make a place for the roll pin to go so that it’ll time correctly, and machine me one of these?

I am not a machinist but I would think the pin would impact the shoulder of the threads before it could seat in that little indent. Do they mention if they drive the pin in later or how they get it time to the barrel indent without having it shred the shoulder on the barrel before it gets to the indent?
