SMYRNA, Ga. – Sep 24, 2018 GLOCK, Inc. expands the 5 th Generation of GLOCK pistols with the addition of two modular optic ready platforms. The GLOCK 17 Gen5 MOS and GLOCK 19 Gen5 MOS come optic ready right from the factory and enable users to mount their preferred reflex sights to their pistol in order to improve their target acquisition.

The G17 Gen5 MOS and G19 Gen5 MOS complete the evolution of perfection for the 9X19 family of Gen5 pistols

*The MOS platform offers a convenient way for users to mount reflex sights without costly alterations to an original GLOCK slide,* said GLOCK, Inc. VP Josh Dorsey. *The resulting combination of optical sighting and the unparalleled accuracy and reliability of the new generation of GLOCK pistols set a new standard for this class of pistol.*

These Gen5 models are precision-machined to provide a mounting system for all popular optic sights. With multiple adapter plates, you can quickly and easily mount electronic sights to the rear of the slide. The Gen5 MOS family of pistols also feature front serrations for easier and quicker manipulations. This includes the addition of front serrations on the G34 Gen5 MOS which was first introduced to the market in January, 2018.

The G17 Gen5 MOS and the G19 Gen5 MOS will be available for purchase starting October 5 th,

They really are doing things to the pistols that I like. No grooves, cocking serrations. Glocks have long worked. I like that they seem to continue to refine them.

Most Glock performance mods are for the Gen 3 because Gen 3 was the pinnacle of Glock perfection. Gen 4's suck. And the newer Glocks are no better.

My range Glock is a Gen 3/4 MOS hybrid...

Ok I gotta ask why does a gen 4 suck? And if a gen 3 is so great why all the mods?

Some shooters feel the handgun They Own is the best and have never tried the newest version with approximately 35 improvements.

I prefer the Gen 5 Glocks to all previous models.

The Gen 4 changed the grip, added the backstraps and a different trigger bar, slide and recoil spring assy. A lot of Gen 4 owners will install a Gen 3 trigger bar, recoil spring assy and other Gen 3 parts to make it shoot better. The Gen 5 feels better because no finger grooves (same as the Gen 2.) There are several online retailers dedicated to Glock mods and accessories.

Will new gen 5's not come with half moon cut out!?!?! Regardless if MOS or not

Can confirm the G45 does NOT have the cut, and thankfully it appears the new Gen5 17 and 19 MOS do not have it either. Not sure if they'll make the change on the existing models.

From a personal preference standpoint it sucks to you (I get that).

My favorite setup so far is a Gen 4 G19 with a stock Gen 4 G17 trigger/bar and factory Glock fixed steel sights.
