In BR, Serop's, Tigerbait Grill on Harrell's Ferry is good for just basic stuff, and there's a Shell station on Perkins near Bluebonnet that's surprisingly good. Albasha, Kamal's on Airline near Gonzales. Lot's of decent places.

I ate at Serops in BR today! T'was great!

Really? I eat on BlueBonnet a couple times a month, at least, and have never had a bad plate.

the one on sherwood is the only one in br i have had. got some humus that tasted spoiled, and the one in walker the chicken was so dry it was inedible. but iv also had perfect meals from both places as well.

Begins and ends with Lebanon's Café in New Orleans. 1500 S Carrollton Ave.

For a quick inexpensive side of the road type family run middle eastern selection from a delicious restaurant/gas station...

Shawarma On The Go, 3720 Magazine St, New Orleans is amazing.

Wow, I almost forgot about Lebanon. Not my part of town so I don't get there often, but you're right they're terrific. As for gas stations, for the best Southern Fried Chicken cooked by Arabs from Detroit, go to Brother's.

Looks good from the pics. Any experience with Panchita's or Thai Mint right by there?

Right near Nirvana. We had it on the radar as a Plan B the night we went to Nirvana.

I'm exactly a mile from the Shell station right now. Rarely on this side of town so I'm hoping for time to hit it up

There is a place in BR by Lee and Highland called The Halal Guys. They do a combination gyro and chicken bowl. It comes with rice and optional sauces. It was pretty darn good. However, I normally prefer Albasha.
