Well this has been a bit of a back burner/parts bin project. I finally decided to finish it up when I scooped up a like new complete CMMG 22 conversion kit for a good deal. I ordered up a 4.5" barrel from CMMG with barrel collar also. I went with a 4.5 because it helps to keep bulk ammo subsonic. When you watch the video you will understand the elevated attractiveness of cheaper bulk 22...

My SBR lower has a Fostech echo trigger. The binary mode safety latch spring had to be clipped and profiled a bit. The other add in in combination with a full auto adapter kit (in order to mimic a M16 profile BCG) allowing the trigger to recognize and utilize the binary mode. Took about 15 mins for trial and error/function check. I will include a complete upper parts list below.

Did you have to put the trip and counterweight in the .22 conversion kit?

Just the trip. The counter weight is for scrubs! Lol. I did polish the extractor to a mirror finish also. I will try it again with it but i do not think its required with this set up... the less mass on the sear safety the better. I did use a different spring with a clip or 2 from the parts bin. It resembled a AR buffer detent spring. I cannot say for sure if it was.

I really don’t know what that is you are using but in an m16 you need a trip and a counterweight to ensure reliability in the .22 conversion kits. That’s what I had in mine and it worked very well. Federal bulk pack stayed subsonic.

I don’t know what the fostek (sp) binary trigger is but I’m sure it is to a MG the same as what a pistol brace is to a SBR/SBR.

I am using the latest Fostech Echo trigger and a Fostech issued/modified sear trip kit less anti-bounce weight. No issues so far. About 600 rounds fed bulk pack in at this point without issue.

    Thank you.

This is one of the most entertaining ones I have put together so far. It is incredible controllable and easy to tear one ragged hole.
