"Gradual onset, generally painless, progressive muscle weakness is the most common initial symptom in ALS. Other early symptoms vary but can include tripping, dropping things, abnormal fatigue of the arms and/or legs, slurred speech, muscle cramps and twitches, and/or uncontrollable periods of laughing or crying."
i have weakness in my left arm but its painful for a few days or a week then the pain almost goes away but not the weakness. at one point i could not rack the slide of a beretta 92. today i can but its a slight strain.
dr. ruled out arthritis, took a bunch of x rays. he "thinks" its a pinched nerve. im waiting on some sort of nerve test. but now i can't help but think he just does not want to tell me it might be als.
don't know if i should make an appointment just to ask if he is sure its not als.
