What's better than cooking food once? Cooking it 3 times.
    Stuffed Mirliton
1} You boil them suckers, Scoop them out.
2 Toss um in the Stuffing and let simmer.
3} Then Top Um with Cheese and Bake Um

Then Ya make a Casserole with what's left

They do not have a chance they're done. Or at least when the cheese is melted.
The Stuffing is a Secret so I would tell ya but would have to kill ya :eek3:
If ya look it has a few key ingredients. Lean Ground Meat, Shrimp, Onions Garlic, and Celery

I have 2 Pans of Stuffed so 31 haves. And the tray of Casserole.
Forgot to add I made a Yam Souffle. That should keep them in food. We call my 20-year-old son BP short for bottomless Pit.
He was eating leftovers and circling the kitchen like a Native American. Can I say that still or are the PC Police gonna get me?
{PS} My wife wants it to be noted that she helped. She put the cheese on them before they went into the oven.

I have a mirliton vine ands they are running late this year because of the cold in the spring. Only have 2 keepers so far but have a hundred coming in the next few weeks.

We normally smother them with shrimp or tasso. Delicious looking casserole !
Gotta love that second skin left on your hands after cleaning :)

Anywhere you find them. Just buy some and let them sit awhile and they will grow from one end. Plant in the spring and the rest is history.

Bingo just let them sit and the seeds pop out the bottoms. Plant the whole thing.
I posted I had 31 halves Really had 35 as The wife and son grabbed 4 before I counted them. Had many more than that as ya mess up some digging them out. Plus you cut some up 100% to make the Cassirole.
Before ya say man that's a lot for 3 persons to eat. She got out the Food Saver and set it on Wet and Soft and Vacuumed some for the freezer. That way when we want some just toss the bags in a pot of hot water and make sides

Do you guys eat the root and leaves as well as the fruit? In Korea the root was baked like a potato. I preferred it over the fruit.
