So I've been reloading for 5 years or so now. I've really been fascinated lately with projectiles and what they do on impact of their intended target. For instance I've been researching 9mm self defense bullets lately. Comparing gold dots, HST, XTP etc. Ive already studied .223 projectiles extensively. Anyone else do this or am I a weirdo?

LEA proven rounds in 9mm include Gold Dot, HST, PDX1, Critical Duty, Golden Saber. In 9mm I use either Gold Dot or HST depending on availability.

This. We carry gold dot but I think I prefer the 147 HST

Don't ever attempt to cast your own projectiles....

    That's another whole new addiction...

I've thought about it, but I have so many other projectiles I want to try out first. Might cast bullets a few years down the road.

I have a custom 38/9mmm round more it is like a round more with the tip cut off. They call the WFN wide flat nose. Is,160 as,a,solid flat. But has mutable inverts to make hollow points. As , a hollow point would be the best cast 9mm. Heavy say mid 140 ish

There nothing weird about wanting to understand any part of the sudden chemical release of heat and energy taking place just a matter of inches from your face. If the safety of yourself and your loved ones is on the line, that is a very healthy curiosity. And It's fun, and useful, and fun, and educational. Did I mention It's fun?
By the way 340six. If Al Nelson had that mold in stock I believe I would have one. If you don't mind please tell us how it casts & shoots.
