I was planning on cooking 2 pounds of red beans yesterday but at a funeral last week we ran into our retired pastor who loves my cooking. So, on Sunday before the wife left to do grocery shopping I asked her to grab another bag so I could send some to the priest. They were put to soak Sunday night right before going to bed and by yesterday morning they had almost sucked every drop of water I soaked them in.

Later in the morning I chopped seasonings and sliced sausage and tasso and started the cook. When done here's what they looked like.

Warmed some French bread slathered with butter and it was time to eat!
