I found this. Might be worth a try if you have brake cleaner.

Brake Cleaner also works well for taking anything you can think of off a car's finish. Just make sure to spray the cleaner on a rag and then use the rag to rub the creosote off, don't spray the brake cleaner directly on the car. I have been detailing cars for 20+ years and I haven't found any substance that this does not work on. Just be sure to wash the area with soap and water after the creosote is remove, the brake cleaner can dull the clear coat if left on.

Kerosene and lighter fluid work, too, but usually involve a lot of elbow grease with things like creosote, road tar, and other nasty substances.... Brake Cleaner cuts right through nasty substances...... you can get a small can at any auto-parts store for 3-4 bucks.

    here
Don’t know if it helps but I had some unidentifiable goo stock on a boat deck once that no solvent I tried would touch. Finally froze it with Freon and quickly popped it off with a putty knife. Got the idea from using ice to get bubble gum out of carpet...

Damn, that’s not a bad idea there. Thanks

So Joey how did it clean up?

Still working on it, the brake cleaner is the best, if the steam had pressure that’d be the ticket. Thank you for letting me borrow the steamer.

Headed to Houston now I should be back by 5, if so I’ll swing by and drop it off

You can borrow my 4 inch grinder. I have some sandpaper wheels that will take it right off. :D
