Greetings
As the subject line indicates, I'm in the market for a Mossberg 500 or 590- specifically in a defensive configuration. They seem to be in the $300 to $500 range, as am I.
Aside from being in safe and proper working condition, the main requirement I have is that the tube holds at least 8 x 2 3/4" 12 gauge shells. Here are a few extras that attract brownie points:
20" barrel (preferred)
590 A1
Wood furniture
Heat shield
Bayonet lug
I plan to shoot this thing A LOT, so I'm indifferent about finish wear as long as it's still functional. Don't be shy if you have something with a cracked stock, but don't expect top dollar for it. If your shotgun looks like butt, I'd like to set up the deal at a range to test fire first.
I'm in the Lafayette area, but I get around quite a bit for work and on the weekends. I have a blued 12 gauge Stoger coach gun or maybe a 30-06 vanguard I'd put up for trade, but cash is king.
