JBP, was not trying to 'stop' anything, just shooting at the junkyard in the woods. BTW, a hard cast 44 mag will shoot thru a 60s model Oldsmobile, door, break the glass in door, thru armrests, thru pass door and glass, and endup inside of adjancent refridgerator, picked up bullet on the shelf inside. I still have it somewhere around here

What if you have to discharge said firearm with a passenger in the vehicle, say a young child, or a grandchild? Are you going to be so cavalier with their hearing, as you are with your own?

I’m guessing if I comitted to shooting at a perpetrator who may be trying to do me grave bodily harm; my passenger would probaly ungerstand! Just saying.

Good answer I was thinking same thing. Almost no defense if you have time to put any type of hearing protection.

Situational awareness and driving away is best anyway.

Know a guy that shot at a deer with a handgun from his drivers seat thru the passenger side window (it was down). It was 20 years ago and he says his ears still hurt. The deer was fine.

What you don’t put you’re hearing protection in when you wake up in the morning? It should be part of our daily attire.

Sadly as much as that is in jest for the average Joe it might be more beneficial to wear active hearing protection than some of the other highspeed stuff people promote. I wonder what it would look like if I track exposure to damaging noise levels. And I’m a desk driver.

There was a member here that claimed to wear body armor 24/7. A concealed plate carrier at that.

A silencer is much cheaper than medical bills for hearing loss, so there is that. Not sure what a truck gun is good for though, I'm just a regular dude with no reason to be running into battle with a rifle. Also, cars are not holsters.

So you’re saying this is not your car then...
