I couldn't stand the idea of shipping out my Glock frame for someone else to stipple so I manned up and did it myself. And I am extremely happy with the results. It's not 100% perfect but it's close enough for me... 95% perfect is not too hard but that last 5% can kill you, lol.
The frame cuts were the scariest part, and the stippling was the easiest, but that's because I chose a random pattern... Something like a basket weave would probably be a real bitch.
The pattern is very aggressive but still doesn't snag on my clothing and it absolutely locks into my grip.
My son liked it so much he had me stipple his P365.

Looks good, I was too chicken to attempt the mag release scallop, but stippled about a dozen of my own guns. I believe I own the tip that can do the same pattern as yours

Looks good---what did you use to do it?

Yeah, the frame cutting was frightening for sure... Just scared it would look like ****.

Wagon Wheel was the main body, X tip to edge the borders, and Cutting tip to make the borders.

Looks real good! How long did it take you?

    Thank you!
About 4 weeks to get up the nerve...
A few hours to make the frame cuts...
And about 4 hours to make the borders and stipple it.
It would go a little faster now that I have some experience but it will never be a fast process... at least not if it's done right.
The pros who charge $300+ to do these frames are definitely NOT overcharging considering the work required.

Have you seen the machines that do the work in minutes?

Sure, but they were out of my price range, lol. Lasers are amazing but it still involves sending out the frame and paying someone else to do something I can do myself... I'm a DIY kind of guy.
I haven't looked into the Laser pricing, but I was referring to the guys who do it by hand. If the Laser guys charge $300+ I would start to say they are ripping people off but then I have no idea how much the start up is for the Laser Engraver... if it's anything like a CNC machine then it will be a long while for them to recoup their investment.

I'm sure it takes a lot of patience to do it right and do a good job. Always means a lot more to you personally when you do yourself.
