Does any one have the new glock 48, any thoughts on it I’m considering getting one

When Baton Rouge Police Supply gets them back in stock, I'm going to pick up one (I have a GSSF coupon I need to use this month).

My impression holding one in the store was that the grip profile was a touch more comfortable than the usual Glock double stack grip. I also appreciate the longer barrel, which I think will help maintain a more usable sight radius.

I'm eyeballing the gun as a possible replacement for my Shield. Not quite and apples-to-apples comparison, but I have a feeling that the 48 will meet my needs better.

More when I actually get it in hand and give it a good run at the range.

I have one and I like it. I can shoot it well, however I have yet to carry it since I have not replaced the oem sights.

I like it more than my 43, however I’m not sure if I’m ready to say it’s better than a 19. I’m not crazy about giving up 5 rounds just for the thinner pistol.

i have numerous glocks. 22 27 19 48. the 48 tends to win the comfort battle, but prints a bit more tham the 27 due to the longer grip. as far as shooting, my 27 has been converted to 9mm (storm lake barrel and 9mm mags). I find the 48 more comfortable to shoot. my only real gripe about the 48 is the silver slide. by the way, you can use regular sights (fat glocks) on the slimline glocks. the dovetail will be full, but if you are having difficulty finding them for the 48, the 17, 19, 22 and 23 sights work. for a while I used some old depleted night sights on my 48.

Love the 48 and the 10rd capacity. It’s what I carry now instead of my G43. Printing is no issue due to the holster & Claw/Wing it gets carried in. Plus, I find that the extra length carries better for me vs the shorter 43.

Just got back from the range with my new G48. Here are my first impressions.

Up to this point my G19X has been the standard-bearer of what a Glock should be. Even with my large paws, the G48 just felt better in hand than the G19X. So that's the plus of the G48.

The downside of the G48 is more felt recoil. This makes sense since there's less slide and less frame to absorb the kick. It's entirely manageable, but it's there.

How do you like it compared to the P365?

    As in how shoots?
They both shoot great, but I mainly carry the G48 as it shoots like my old G43, but feels better in the hands due to the slightly larger grip (I have large hands). The longer muzzle of the G48 & G19 carries better for me IWB as it extends lower below the belt line and make it more stable.
The P365 is an outstanding pistol. 10-12 rd capacity in a small package. I’ve put 500rds through the one we have and it’s solid. It’s a early born on date, so I must admit that striker is on my mind. Due to its slightly shorter length, and with the right pants/shorts, you can drop it in a pocket holster for pocket carry with the 10rd flush mag.

But I’ve always choose to carry the largest gun that I can carry “comfortably” and when possible, I carry my G19 in a 50/50 pancake holster concealed or IWB appendix with a wing/claw on a holster.
