    Lifetime License?

    Hey guys,

Is there any reason *not* to get a lifetime hunting and fishing license in Louisiana, other than having to lay out $500 in one shot? Seems like a no-brainer since I'd be saving money after only five years.

If you're over 50 you might not get your money's worth.

    If you're over 65 and a veteran I think it's free.

You should get it unless you only hunt small game.

I got the lifetime last year when I renewed. I'm 67 and a veteran and it was free. Just have to go to a class every 5 years. Not sure but I think the class is pretty much an in and out thing.

I have had it for years. Never been to a class. I'm 57. I did go with my son years ago to the hunter education class. Just went to be with him.

The lifetime hunting and fishing license is $50 if you are 60 or older. Of course, the annual license is only $5 per year. See the link to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries website.
