Bill to create, expand public shooting ranges passes senate

Itd be nice to have a public range in the Baton Rouge area but getting the politicians to give up the 10% itd take to get the process rolling would be tough.

It would be a step to help even up the spending on Pitman-Robert’s money. Mississippi has been on the ban-wagon for a while with three pretty nice ranges operated by and funded through the MDWFP. They offer pistol classes trap and skeet shoots and 3D Archery competitions, as well as pistol and rifle ranges. Additionally there is an unmanned range in the DeSoto National Forest that is maintained by MDWFP if I were a betting man I would wager there are others I don’t know about like DeSoto.
