Cleaning Horns

My neighbor the cowboy turned me on to a few cow horns.

Now in order to clean out the funky center mass what is the proper method?

I don't want to get to wild with these since these are very nice horns?

So any helpful tips would be appreciated!

Okay,Wasn't quite sure how well that would work? I had poured some boiling water in each one in hopes the center core would separate from the outer horn,However this didn't do diddle squat other than kill a few maggots?

A friend of mine uses the ant piles to clean out deer skulls

Got it done, Had a 14 year old girl came by and was able to pull them apart...Go figure?
