Ah, gender dysmorphia the only mental disorder where we treat the patient with illness. We don’t starve anorexics or help bulimics Benge and vomit. Why is this any different? It no more heathy than buying an alcoholic a drink or taking a gambling addict to the craps table. Yet the western culture has some how become so inclusive and unwilling to hurt feelings that we would risk a person’s mental health to make them feel good. We have truly gone of the deep end.

It's truly bizarre how certain small groups of people are trying to completely redefine everything about reality. Apparently, there are dozens of different human genders, according to the NewThink. Up is down. Left is right. Right is wrong. Black is white.

What's next for the New Fascists? My guess is they will tell us, and demand that we accept that, War is Peace, Ignorance is Strength, Slavery is Freedom. The Left is trying to drag us down the road to an Orwellian future, and this is just the beginning.

I’m a member of the free beard club. Not so much because a beard is super manly (which it is) it’s free it’s easy it’s natural. And it uglys me up just enough so that mere mortals find me approachable.

In the DSM 5 it's referred to as "gender dysphoria," and it's no longer recognized as a disorder. Ergo, we no longer "treat" it.

    Mike

So I self identify as a black dude but only from the waist down.

Also although everything about my appearance points to my Anglo/Celtic genetics I feel like I’m 1/5 (because reality doesn’t matter so why should fractions) Cherokee. Where do I get my casino check? Oh wait when money’s on the line reality still counts.

The truth does count for something. Gender identity problems (call them what ever the you want) are mental disorders not a genetic or anatomy disorder. The suicide rates of post trans people proves it. Imagine that butchering a human being doesn’t make them happy. Just like liposuction doesn’t make fat girls happy and the people who get the lap-bands almost never get skinny and stay skinny.

The truth is people need to figure out how to be happy and comfortable in their own skin without a ‘gender re-assignment’.

What is worse is advocating for or allowing a young child to start a process they don’t truly understand before they grow their first pub.

We in the west have hammered African cultures for carrying out genital mutation traditions that pre-date the coming of Christ but some how here in America (other places too) it’s ok to hack up, chemically alter, brain wash children who are dumb enough to eat tide pods just because they say it’s ok.

Brainwash children who eat tide pods? I have a story for you brother. Exxon/Mobil has a plant just South of Mobile, AL. They truck out sulfur because the gas is sour. Apparently a small piece of sulfur fell off of a truck on a short road to the plant. A kid around 11 years old picked up a sulfur "rock" and smoked it. The dumb little **** ended up in the hospital. And Exxon/Mobil paid $$$$$$ to make it go away.

I know teens/children often even ‘young adults’ don’t have the good sense to get out the rain much less making a decision about cutting off appendages.

Maybe suicide rates are higher because some people still have the audacity to call this a “disorder” when the vast majority of the mental health profession thinks otherwise.

I choose not to be one of those people. I accept others as they are, knowing that they’re the unique sum of their own genetics, life experiences, etc. Let go of the hate.

I have no hate towards the individuals who battle this type of disorder only those interested in using these people and their disorder for their own benefit. I’m sympathetic to the individuals who feel they are the opposite sex, and I think it is awful that someone would intentionally manipulate children who feel awkward.

Out of curiosity, what mental health training do you have? Safe to assume that you have at least a master's degree in psychology?

I ask because you insist on calling this a "disorder," despite the vast majority of contemporary medical evidence to the contrary. I'm curious to better understand the basis of this opinion.

I think you know the answer to that. What I find sad is your efforts of persuasion have failed so you shifted to discredit me first by claiming bigotry and now lack of education in a subject.

Funny thing you discredited your own argument earlier without even knowing. You used the word genetics to discuss someone’s individual identity and you seem to reject genetics as being the supreme arbiter of a person’s sex/gender (whatever word you prefer because obviously words have no meaning any more). If ones individual identity as they see it couldn’t possibly be a mistake how on earth could ones genetics? Remember you used genetics to describe someone’s individual identity.

I’m sure you are about to bounce to intersex next which affects .05% of the population. That’s not to say what they go through isn’t significant to them but statistically an anomaly.

    Mike,

Tell you what I’m nothing if not open minded. I may have a strong opinion on this subject (many others) which is based on facts, observations of humans the natural world, and maybe a splash of religion. But I’m a reasonable person give me a logical argument and facts maybe you will convince me I’m wrong.

Please be careful not to give me feelings yours or otherwise. I don’t mean to be cold when I say this but I don’t give a crap about your feelings or anyone else’s. Once upon I time I felt like the biggest baddest kid on the playground until the kid from the other class who had been held back a year stomped my @$$ all over the playground. My point is feelings aren’t reality. If you want to bring a reasoned argument I will listen.
