I hate horns. That’s why it’s illegal to blow them in that scenario

    Holy crap is it really?
God bless we have become so pathetic that we can’t handle some blowing a horn at us, and we outlaw it. It’s all that ‘‘Toxic stuff’’ from the other thread. :mamoru:

It’s been against the law for a very long time.

Yes, they were on foot hiding in the bushes and chasing down cars on foot with expired tags. Dangerous job but someone has to do it. :dogkeke:

We travel a lot from Slidell to Lafayette making deliveries. I almost always see at least 3 Troop L units on 12 and no units Troop A units most of the time and a rare Troop I unit.

I assume most of you heard of the random killings in Metairie Monday. These people were shot while they sat in their vehicles. I understand it is random, and in the world of statistics, this is extremely rare, but thinking of that along with this thread, here is my question.

If any of you LEO know more details or can find out some info, I would like to know how this guy approached these vehicles? Was he side by side of them in his own vehicle? Did he walk up to them as they sat idling a light or stop sign? Did he just drive up or drive by? My reasoning is this; these victims were most likely unarmed and non-gun people. They may not have had an inkling of situational awareness when it comes to threats; but some of us do. I find myself contemplating mock escape strategies while I'm in traffic alot. Like most of you, I am armed well. Unlike some of you, I NEVER sit on my gun. I do imagine scenarios where an armed person approaches my vehicle or other while we are all bunched up at a red light, etc. with a weapon and almost exactly like this incident. How this guy got the jump on these folks would be useful info.

    Thanks!

The Advocate has no real journalists that follow through, so it is almost impossible to get the full story from them. Ever!

Leaving it concealed on yourself while driving where it would be hard to get to in a hurry.

So where do you have it?

    1. Laying on passenger seat *(a,b,c,d,e,g)
    2. Wedged next to the seat *(b,c,d,e,g)
    3. Gun magnet *(b,c,d,e,f,g)
    4. Holster mounted to the vehicle *(d,e,f,g)
    5. Center console *(d,e,g)
    6. Other

    ----------------------
    *
a - able to shift during normal driving
b - may end up in an unknown location in the event of a wreck
c - may end up as a projectile in the event of a wreck
d - may need to move eyes off threat to grab it
e - will be visible if you must exit the vehicle in a rush
f - visible notice to people looking in the vehicle there may be something of value inside
g - must expose weapon to exit with weapon concealed

Left off minigun pops up through roof... :)
Or, more seriously, carry on on your person and one in the vehicle. IE mouse gun in the pocket and something slightly bigger in the vehicle. Maybe a .380 and a Remington 870 say...
