I did that by typing it on an open page and printing it and put it on a thumb drive
If you filed the report that it was stolen and was listed in NCIC, then that is sufficient for ownership. If they wont take that, try a notarized statement that it is your firearm. If that doesn't work, get an attorney. Its your property, no different than a lawnmower they recovered.
If you are that worried, you have larger issues. If you think they will mine your app, trust they already have the data anyway.
