I picked this one up the other day. The blade feels a little loose, for a BM, but otherwise, it matches the specs for an old Reflex 2000. Anyone have one to compare this to? I thought the logo was off, but I read that the old Balisong logo is correct for this knife. I'll clean it and tighten up the blade and see what the internals look like in the next week or so.

Looks legit to me. The loose blade happens with use on a few models since they uh, outsourced some of their manufacturing.

    Copy/paste the spa day comment.

Yeah, once I play with it a bit, I'll send it in. I just don't want to send in a fake, cuz, ya know, a fake in the hand is still better than, getting it confiscated...:dogkeke:

I'd call it a fake. No text on rear of blade and butterfly looks too far forward, no model number under the butterfly, and feels loose...? I don't have one of those but I have my share of Benchmades.

That's why I was asking. It doesn't quite feel up to the quality of other BMs and there is no backside writing. However, after reading some things and looking at some others that have sold on auction sites, it looks pretty real. It's an old model and I haven't been able to find any fakes for sale on the Interwebs.

    Okay, I’ll stand corrected.
    No safety = fake.

But it sure does look like mine.

The first auto I had from BM around '98 or '99 didn't have a safety.

Around 2001 I chipped the blade and sent it back to BM. They sent me back a different model that had a safety.
