I watched the circus last night. What I took away from it mostly, and most frighteningly, is those 3500 "hand picked" lemmings in the audience clapped for everything any of them said.

What an absurd show of pandering; and a worse example of zealotry. Sadly, most of the lemmings outside of that building who watched on TV, probably aren't aware of how laws are created in this country. Shockingly, everyone of these idiots up there were openly arguing to create fiefdoms, break existing federal laws, and side step the Constitution, as they tried to out-stupid each other.

    :awais: New Word Alert!

Out-Stupid: transitive verb, 1.To surpass in stupidity or idiocy. n. opposed to sense. 2. To surpass in retardation.

    Beto is wrong

An inanimate object, such as a rifle, can neither assume an attitude nor behave in an offensive manner.
Therefore there is no such thing as an assault rifle.
The responsibility of it's use rests wholly upon it's operator.

Any questions, refer to the 2nd Amendment of The Constitution of United States of America 1789 (rev. 1992).

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Beto.jpg I repeat, shall not be infringed, Beto.

Bean-O got just what he wanted last nite. He made a splash with the Nut Jobs and media. And at the same time when someone says Come take My AR, Bean-O can claim it's a threat. But can you win the presidency without winning your home state?
I think the Fake Mexican is trying to be the vp for Fauxahontus. Ultimate Culturally Appropriation.
    Love the Bean-O Butthead.

This is politics, plain and simple.

The Democrats are using Beto (who stands an ice cube's chance in hell of actually getting elected) to see what the reaction would be to a New Zealand-style confiscation. This also gives other Democrats like Biden a chance to seem more "reasonable."

The whole purpose of Beto's little rant was to slightly shift the Overton window. And to help the Democrats fundraise, which they will.

If the Republicans are smart (which they aren't), they'll drive this all the way to Election Day. They'll remind voters that Democrats' true motives have now been revealed. After years of Obama & Co. telling us that they weren't trying to take our guns, we now learn that we were right all these years. But, given the number useless squishes the Republicans have in Congress, I'm sure they'll snatch failure from the jaws of success.

    Well written great points.

    A+

Bonus points for mentioning the Overton Window.

Next you will suggest we read ‘Rules for Radicals’ so that we know what we are dealing with, with these Mao loving, Pol Pot sucking commie bastards.

I know the Dems are stupid, desperate too, but do they really wanna throw in their end game now? Especially since almost none of the New Zealand gun owners seem to be turning in their now banned weapons. I think the prime minister let her pen overload her ass when it came to the actions taken. Now what? They know that nearly all of contraband owners there are not turning in those guns and they’ve done nothing so far. Apply that strategy here in the US and we will see that civil war everyone is looking for. I think they’ll stay on the same track as before. Chip away, multiple angles of attack, little ban here, couple laws there, state by state..
They’ve already shown their hand. More and more people are coming aware of their intent. It’s not so much a boogie man scenario anymore.

This does not sound or a good read for any of us. Keep in mind this is politics and normally that implies lying to the masses. Guns are the biggest hit and tear jerk amongst this who fall victim to the rhetoric and drink wholeheartedly from the political juice.
Politicians always lead strong with whatever it takes to gain appeal from the masses.
I'm not saying he wouldn't try if in office but there is way to many other variables that would come to play and slow or stop the idea of taking back weapons.
Only my opinion but, F politics!

Agreed. And because of their rhetoric I can see the herd losing numbers. Mainly the middle income sheep that don’t live off the government teat. The Dems are getting too loud and are waking the baby. I hope the Dems bring it all to bear before this election and expose every secret, every plan, all their cards on the table. I believe basic human instinct will take over at that point and many more sleeping and hoodwinked Americans will begin to wake up and smell the kah-kah, come around from the anesthesia-hypnotic daily narrative media (already happening), convert to real life and leave the Democratic push to the crazies.
My 12hr shift job allows me to observe all walks of life, sampled from a 50-100 mile radius, on a daily basis while they are watching TV, often in small groups. The environment is very closed and personal, limited to family and/or close friends. I can quietly watch reactions to news droppings and listen to voiced beliefs and concerns which helps me to see mostly local views but in many cases those abroad as well. The general consensus among the working class seems to be swinging away from liberal/socialist/commie/Marxist thinking and more toward patriotic/conservative talk. I hear a good deal of comments that sound like concern from the welfare class but their position on the social class scale and the government teat have a firm grasp on their vote. The two common brow lifters with them are the influx of illegals into the country stealing jobs, welfare, your kid, etc., and of course the negative views of law enforcement.
Again, mostly a local sample, but telling nonetheless.
So, as I said, hopefully the Dems will let every cat out of every bag here soon. Whether or not it shocks enough of the populous out of their slumber, at least we will know better what to fight in the future.
