I haven't shot one but I knew someone who had one and didn't complain but I'm sure he barely shot 100 rounds with it. Palmetto state has been getting better & better throughout the years thats for sure.

I have one of their AKV’s and haven’t had any issues. Only at the 500 round mark at one range trip. This is my 3rd rifle from them with zero problems.

I think PSA did their homework on these puppies. I got to handle and shoot the one my son bought and I was very impressed. A step above most of the variants as far as build quality. And after seeing a Romanian AK74 with trunion issues I can see PSA got that right too. I’m also watching their site for one.

What do they usually go for? 500-600 bucks? At that price it is cheaper than going DIY with a surplus comm bloc kit, US barrel and a US receiver (and a few 922r filler parts).

It seems like they are the best of the US parts guns, the IO Aks do not usually rate very well. Century's various offerings can be hit or miss as well.

I have been interested in the 100% US Ak since they were announced. I have built quite a few Ak platform guns with all of the various Comm Bloc parts. It is a pity the wasr variants are not better quality as the model 63 Romanian parts were very nice to work with. I must have used a dozen of those parts sets and everything was in spec, did not have to turn any of the barrel journals to achieve correct press fit.

To be honest I have not fooled with an AK in year or so, I used to be on AK files 10 times a day!
