So my wife is a VIPKid teacher. What’s this mean? She teaches English to kids in China online at some crazy hours. It is pretty cool because she gets to work at home, teach some good kids, and interact with lots of their parents. My kids have made friends with a couple of her long-term students and even exchanged some personal artwork/crafts. The families have been from all classes — those in the lowest socio-economic class scraping everything together so their kids can get a good education in order to have a better life, middle class, and the Uber rich where helicopters are normal transportation.

Last week one of her fellow teachers shared a crazy experience. They were covering a lesson on animals and the student said she had something to show the teacher. The kid was taking class on her iPad and started on the top floor showing the giraffe’s head and continued down subsequent floors until she got all the way to the bottom floor to the giraffe’s hooves. I’ve heard of a head or shoulder mount, but have never heard of a full intact life size giraffe that’s probably 18-20’. This family definitely falls into the Uber rich class. Could you imagine the scale of your house so your giraffe did not look out of place?

I wouldnt have thought a chinese family would be able to afford something like that considering how their goobermint runs the country. I thought everything was split equally or taxed severely there? But anyhoo, damn.... Why mount a giraffe to begin with?

China has the correct kind of socialism/communism. That is where a select few are allowed to do whatever they want and make oodles of money while the rest of the population do as they are told and live in semi poverty.

I think it is called democratic socialism. Not sure, I will have to ask a younger person for the correct terminology. Younger people are really hip on these things.
