    .40?
I do not own many firearms,(working on that) but I do own a .40 pistol that I absolutely would never part with. There is a distinctive boom that's associated with it every time I send one through the pipe that I can't get enough of, and It's preferred over my 1911 in .45.
I'm not knocking 9mm or any other calibers but I'd say because I'm also looking for a .40 pcc rifle I am sticking with it.
That and inexpensive .22 Cal plinking toys.

all of my pistols (11 of them) except my 1911s are .40 caliber.
to be honest I think the genius in the video made the remarks he did just to get people to watch his video. .40 caliber ammo is not all that much more than 9mm and it's a much more savage round. flies a little slower than a 9mm but it causes nearly TWICE the damage. I've watched several tests where a 9mm round wouldn't even pierce the target and a .40 cal round put a big ass hole. I think it may all come down to preference but I prefer to leave a big ass hole left in my target.
Hahahah we got a live one

To Dave’s post, I’ve seen tons of gel comparisons between the different (auto) handgun calibers that show there is not a big difference on the receiving end. Not enough to compensate for lack of shot placement.

I personally don’t feel like the .40 is dying or should.

As for recoil, that has more to do with the weight of the gun, the way the gun fits you, your skill/technique, and design of the weapon. To me at least.
I’ve shot a mid sized all metal .380 that had a harder to manage recoil than a subcompact polymer .45acp.

What matters to me is to be able to accurately put multiple rounds on target quickly and from any feasible position.
