Looking for a light carry pistol for the woods/tackle box. Trying to decide on 357 or 38sp, I've shot both calibers in different models, but I'm curious if anyone owns or has shot 357 out of the LCRx with a 3" barrel? My only concern would be the recoil in that light of a pistol.

I’ve shot .357 in one; a bit stout but manageable.
My suggestion is to get the .357 model and try it for yourself.
If you don’t like the recoil, load it with .38sp.
It’s better to have a second caliber as an option in my opinion.

I bought the LCR .357. It is my wife’s pistol. It’s loaded with Hornandy light recoil .38. The .357 is only an ounce or so heavier than the .38 If I carry it it’s loades with full house .357. The trigger is nice. I let a friend try it out and he sprayed it with gun scrub. Pls don’t do that. The polymer isn’t the same as a Glock. Had to really oil it up to get the polymer back to looking good. Much worse than spraying a Glock etc. gun function fine and is good for intended use. I would recommend it often. Good luck to ya.

I'm carrying a LCRx .38 Snubby right now. So light, you forget you have it on.

Recoil isn't bad with factory ammo, however; I carry mine with handloads that are loaded to +P velocities.

A 110 Speer Short Jacketed Hollow Point at 1000 fps, over my chrono. That's out of this snubby barrel

Those hurt. I mean 'pain'. They sting the palm like nobody's business.

I force myself to shoot this revolver at least once a month. Not a task I enjoy, with those loads.

Like I said though. With my standard .38 spl loads, no big deal.
