I want to hunt Pearl this weekend by canoe. Paddles and all. I'm looking for a remote small launch sufficient for a canoe captained by a dork with a paddle, a rifle and a 2WD truck. Has to be a small waterway so the wind doesn't blow me all around.
Yesterday I scouted a small launch off of Middle River (the middle bridge off of I-10 Eastbound). It's a nice small launch but the embankment for interstate is steep and I'm afraid my old all-terrain 2WD tires would have problems in wet grass.
There are a couple of smaller launches off of Hwy 190, but some of those waterways are kind of large for a paddled canoe.
Is there a small canoe launch near English Bayou?
Would love to get back near Perch Lake but I don't think I can paddle that far and back.
Any ideas on locating a few small boat launches in remote areas of Pearl for hog stalking?
