    I'm looking for a Remington Nylon 66 lever action rifle. I would prefer a black stock with the chrome receiver.
    I am in the market and would like ideas on what a decent price to pay would be.

    Thanks

    $3000 might be kinda high, the black and chrome 66s are going for 5-700 nowdays; also, when Rem decided the molds and tooling were worn out, they were sold to NORINCO, who continued to produce fifles for a few years, you might wanna do some more checking around..

    A vendor at the Mandeville gunshow this past weekend (7Dec) had one in his rack; black stock, receiver, barrel and the lever were nickel. Tag was marked $2800.

    I do understand the collecting urge and for certain folks it’s well worth it.
    It’s just not for me.
    Perhaps if you’d grown up with one as your first gun it might be what you need.

    My first gun was a Remington Nylon 66 - brown. My dad bought it from Little Jimmy Davis (Governor Jimmy Davis's son) for $15.00. My dad and I used to shoot it often.
    I have since (many years gone by) bought the green one (2) and the black one.
    I guess I'm a Nylon 66 collector. They are fun to shoot and bring back a lot of great memories of shooting with my dad.

    * I have found a black lever action - Nylon 76 "Trail-rider"
