    Kennah!
Got an M&P .22 coming to a market place near you soon!

Yes, you and so many others. ;)

I believe that only the target types of .22 pistols will emerge unscathed.
Unless, of course, the Glock 44 turns out to be a turd, unlikely as it may seem.

I’m trying to get excited with you guys... but no matter how hard I try I’m just not feeling it. I mean, it’s not like I don’t have Glockage, I got a few, all tucked in their little Tupperware, nice and fresh...
I’ll just sit here and amp off you guys’ excitement.

It’s not that I’m all that excited about the pistol.
IMO, the Ruger MK series will always be my favorites.
I just want to see if it lives up to the hype.
My aim is to buy one and abuse it.
If it exceeds expectations, I’ll be thrilled.
But I just cannot see it ever replacing my Rugers.

    I heard that!
As far as a standard type pistol in .22LR, the little Walter P-22’s and PP-22’s make the most sense. I’ve personally never had issues with the $200-$250 pistols. I did buy a used one with a broken hammer spring for $100 and sent it back to Walther USA, who paid the shipping. A week later I received a brand new pistol with all the goodies to my door, free of charge. No FFL because it was a replacement. I wonder if Glock would do that..

Glock has great customer service and will replace parts or pistols as needed.

When I regularly carried a 1911 I used a Colt Umarex 1911-22 as part of my training routine. About 6 years ago I switched to carrying a G 19 and have been hoping Glock would bring out a 22 similar to the G 19. In the interim I bought a Glock Umarex G 19 BB pistol that I can use at home anytime to practice draw and presentation. It is loud enough to use a shot timer. I have a Ruger MK II and the 1911-22 and I will probably buy the Glock 44.

How long ago was 22LR going for 10 cents per round? Anybody?
9mm is 9 cents per round at Walmart right now.

Only until it's gone, which will happen at the 1st of 2020 when they give the remaining stock to law enforcement agencies.

    Things I wonder about:

Not only is the frame plastic, (short for 'Space Age Polymer'), but the slide is plastic too. How will a plastic slide hold up to twenty, or thirty thousand rounds?

Why only ten rounds in a G-19 sized pistol? That seems weird.

You may or may not be surprised how many people don't shoot the ammo they carry.

I am not surprised at all. Over many years I have seen:
I have seen them remove duty ammunition and shoot range ammunition and not be able to find their duty ammunition after qualifying.
They qualify twice a year but duty ammunition is shot and replaced once a year.
I have seen several load 9mm in their .40 service pistols and try to qualify.
I have also seen shooters step forward of other shooters on a hot line as well.
The shooting was immediately stopped and those shooter were told to leave the premises.
I have seen shooters drop their pistol on a hot line.
Fingers on the trigger, loaded pistol pointed at other shooters, etc.
New shooters filling the hole in the slide on their Glocks with oil and were confused when their pistols did not work properly.
