    Kennah!
Never been in a club but I can imagine what people like this would do to it.
Met a lot of hunters in my day but never met a jerk like this; most hunters are excellent folk.

I've maintained many times over the years, "Deer hunting brings out the best and the worst in people!"

Based on the assertions you made here, this douche would be so gone from any club I was in; or I would be gone. I did the club scene for many, many years; and though I had tons of fun with some great guys, there is always the "shady" character lurking in most clubs. The larger the membership, the bigger numbers of potential douches. I've heard of some clubs having dozens and dozens of members. Man, no way could I deal with that!

The douches that equate their membership dues with how many deer they must kill are the worst. I am glad I don't have to play in the "Club" game anymore. But I do understand why many must!

I find there are a contingent of people that just don’t have the same respect for animals that I do. I don’t think this guy is a bad guy I just think he doesn’t care (maybe wasn’t raised to) like many of us do. Personally I think the temptation was too much for him. When you don’t respect that animal it’s much easier to shoot it and not worry about if you mortally wounded it or just gave it a flesh wound.

I always go back to when I was a little fella and daddy and papaw got excited about ‘doe day’. We ain’t but one good generation out of recovery.

I really enjoy hunting deer and enjoy seeing them on the landscape, and based on your reactions to this guys folly you do too.

There is all kinds of foolishness and folklore that surrounds hunting, and often people using that to absolve them of guilt. You know the, ‘gave him a hair cut’ kind of stuff. Many guys actually believe that, and yeah it could happen, but do you normally miss your target by 8 inches? And what are the odds you just nicked hair? Odds are you hit it.

I say all that to say I don’t think he’s a bad guy just a bad hunter and one who likely made a poor life choice, and chose to lie about it.

If he is a "bad" hunter, then he is most likely an "unsafe" hunter too. A greedy douche leaves the gun loaded all the way back to camp, just in case!

An "undisciplined" hunter is child that hasn't had hunting discipline instilled into him by his peers yet. A grown up "undisciplined" hunter is a problem for everyone around him! I'd bet he climbs in and out of his stand with a round chambered.

Just for shits and giggles, watch him next time he arrives back at camp and see if he unloads that rifle then. ;)
